ESSEC Business School, one of the leading business schools in Europe, officially inaugurated its new Asia-Pacific Campus in Singapore last week.

The Singapore campus, situated at Nepal Hill in the One-North district of Singapore, is ESSEC’s first campus outside France.

The acclaimed business school has a 108-year history, having being founded in Paris in 1907, and has had a presence in Singapore for the last decade.

The new site is expected to act as a hub for ESSEC’s activities in the Asia-Pacific region, and will offer various programmes that ESSEC Business School hasn’t covered before.

These programmes include the ESSEC Global BBA, a bi-campus Bachelor in Business Administration programme, which will welcome its first students in September, as well as new and specialised masters courses, such as the MSc in Business Analytics and Consulting. Company programmes for senior executives will also be available.

The new campus building spans an area of 6,500sqm and is built on five floors with nine lecture rooms, ten breakout rooms, one large auditorium, a library, a Knowledge Lab, several study areas, offices and residential suites for visiting academics.

The campus was opened on 4th May by Singapore’s Second Minister for Ministry of Home Affairs and Industry and Trade, Mr S Iswaran. Also present was the Ambassador of France to Singapore, Benjamin Dubertret.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, Mr Laurent Fabius says: “This new campus represents a decisive stage in the constant development of ESSEC Asia-Pacific. It is the result of a fruitful cooperation with Singaporean authorities and their capacity to support ambitious and innovative projects.

ESSEC can claim a very special identity. In this regard, the subject of the inaugural conference on the “pioneering spirit” is very topical of the philosophy of ESSEC and its belief in “learning by doing” and constantly rcs data experimenting new methods.

“ESSEC is definitely anchored in its tradition but always aspiring to innovations and keen to work in a multicultural environment.”

Professor Jean-Michel Blanquer, Dean and President of ESSEC Business School, added that “This is one of our school’s proudest moments. We are now keyed into the vibrant and growing economies of the Asia-Pacific region, with even more innovative business education capabilities relevant to a variety of sectors right at where it happens.

“ESSEC’s values and philosophy in education is built on its pioneering spirit which is always to venture and explore the new frontiers of knowledge and technology. Singapore is at the crossroads of all socio-economic activities in Asia-Pacific. We are indeed excited to be part of this dynamic growth.”
