The role of different types of headers in your email campaigns (and other texts)
In terms of good writing practices , the header has a primary function. Broadly speaking, it is the reader's entry into the text, whether it is a newspaper article, an interview in a magazine or an email newsletter.

In fact, among other functions, the guam business email list header also has the objective of filtering the audience towards the text , offering a “reward” for the same reader after venturing to consume the content.

However, its importance is often overlooked, and many journalists, bloggers and editors neglect it or do not take full advantage of it , thereby missing out on a unique opportunity to exploit its full potential.

Different types of headers for different needs and purposes
That said, taking advantage of the potential of headers lies in knowing the different types that exist, in order to know how to best apply them to the type of content we are handling in the newsletter.

Direct headers
First, we have the direct headings . It is simple and easy, in a single sentence all the necessary information is mentioned to arouse the curiosity of the reader:

«The ROI of email marketing is 43%»

Without saying too much, the headline itself has already “said it all.” If you have a very direct writing style, this type of headline is ideal.

Indirect Headings
Next, there is the indirect header. Here the idea is to arouse the subscriber's curiosity:

“You can compare it to as many as you want, but it is the best”

It never exactly mentions “what” or “who”, maybe we are referring to Mittum, don’t you think?

Combined Headers
Here the formula is very clear; the virtues of direct and indirect are being combined.

“Mittum’s Shipment Eaters”

Although it clarifies the issue (shipments), it does not fully specify what "devourers" are.

News Headline
The focus is on novelty and satisfying the need to be informed.

“Automated email marketing is a trend for 2017”

Many newsletters in gazette or periodical supplement format use this format, which is quite practical.

Orientation heading
These types of headings are intended to tell the reader how to achieve a purpose.

“Increase your business opportunities with Moose landing pages”

With a persuasive and advertising essence, many of the promotional headlines are managed under this format.

Interrogative heading
The idea here is to explore the reader's curiosity, inviting him or her to look for the answer in the text.

“How can you increase your email deliverability ratio with Mittum?”

To a certain extent, it would be similar to orientation, but everything is generated from doubt.

Imperative heading
The idea here is to explore the reader's curiosity, inviting him or her to look for the answer in the text.

“Apply now with Mittum and get 1,000 free shipments the first month”

Yes, you already noticed. It is about giving an order in a “polite” manner, inviting immediate action.

Now that you know all these different types of headers, which ones have you used the most in the past? Comment and share.
