Email marketing is the preferred channel for young people in the US to receive advertising
Various brands and specialists have labeled email marketing as an unattractive mechanism for young people (let's leave millennials aside).

However, recent research by Adestra tells us quite the opposite , at least in the context of the United States.

In the survey of more than 1,200 US teenagers, it was revealed that 68% of teenagers prefer email marketing over social media for receiving messages and advertising campaigns.

This is quite impressive and in contrast to 'general industry thoughts', with only 7% preferring to receive push notification style messages on their mobile over email marketing.

However, this group of young people (actually teenagers) and millennials are decisive when it comes to opening email marketing messages or campaigns. 79% of teenagers and 68% of millennials simply delete everything that doesn't respond well on their phones.

If your company or product's primary market is young people and/or millennials, it is important to work 'a little harder' to achieve the desired success.

Understanding the minds of young consumers
In some ways, it is necessary (almost mandatory) to work with specialists in psychology and human behavior who can determine and clarify the real needs of each demographic group to which your email marketing is focused.

It is almost obvious (but we do not like to ignore it) that within this 'process of understanding', the adaptation of the language to the slang or jargon of young people is essential . It is precisely in email marketing aimed at these groups that it is allowed to be to a certain extent 'free of ties' or institutional concepts, and to include in an email subject even phrases recognized in memes, or the classics "LOL", "WTF" and "YoLo", just to give an example.
