Access to Facebook apps has suffered further disruptions

Facebook announced that it has fixed the problems that partially disrupted the Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger applications on Friday evening, October 8, a few days after a major outage that completely paralyzed these services for several hours.
According to specialist website Downdetector , problems began to appear shortly after 8pm on Instagram, and to a lesser extent on Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp.

Fully restored evening services
A Facebook spokesperson confirmed to Agence France-Presse (AFP) at around 11:20 p.m. that the issue had been resolved and services fully restored.
"Our sincere apologies to anyone who has been unable to access our products over the past few hours ," he said in an email. "We have resolved the issue and everything should be back to normal now ," he added.

The outage was caused by a configuration change and affected users worldwide. However, it was unrelated to what happened on Monday, Facebook said.

All of the company's services, from WhatsApp to Instagram to Messenger to Oculus, were then inaccessible for nearly seven hours. The outage, Facebook explained the next day, was caused by an error by the group during a routine operation.
WhatsApp has appealed
WhatsApp has appealed the Irish regulator's decision. "No matter where you are in the world, we protect your personal messages with end-to-end encryption, which means that no one, not even WhatsApp, can read or listen to them ," it said.
