Facebook Search is born, Twitter and Newspapers tremble

Post by shakilhasan15 »

Today marks the launch of Facebook Search , the search engine within Facebook that allows you to discover news and “hot topics” that interest your extended network.

Facebook search is born
The announced innovation, currently available in the US, is a direct attack on Twitter, Google news and all online publishers. In practice, using the approximately 2 trillion posts available, Facebook adds these features that can be activated from the SEARCH box (see video below):

Search Suggestions : When you tap into the cambodia telegram phone number list box and start typing, you'll be personalized with a variety of hot topics that are happening right now so you can follow the most popular stories as they unfold.
Basically Google's instant search applied to social posts.
Search Results : Facebook will mix both public and friend posts into your results when you search, so you can understand what the world is saying about a topic at the moment.
It is unclear what the impact will be on older posts and how search engines will access and index this data.
Conversations and Sentiment : When a link is shared widely on Facebook, you will be able to find the hottest public messages associated with it, see popular mentions, and an aggregate overview of sentiment on the topic. I predict that journalists will spend more time on FB….

In short, Facebook, in addition to keeping you connected to your friends (and friends of friends), now aspires to become the global agora or online square where you can find out what “everyone” else is talking about.
Facebook’s focus on news and video is a clear signal: Facebook wants to become the primary platform for discussing current events and gossip.
